Rhapis excelsa (Lady Palm) 10-12"
!NOT ELIGIBLE FOR SHIPPING!
Native to Southeastern China through Vietnam, and possibly extinct throughout it's natural range, Rhapis excelsa is a species of palm in the Arecaceae family. It's a fantastic palm option for people who enjoy growing them indoors, and they have been remarkably hardy for us in-store. Able to grow up to fifteen feet tall, but more likely to cap out at around six feet indoors. The genus name Rhapis comes from the Greek word meaning a needle. The specific Latin epithet excelsa means "tall" in reference to the plant's height, which is confusing as it's not the tallest species in the genus.
Rhapis excelsa enjoys bright indirect to partial/filtered direct sun exposure, a chunky, well-draining potting mix, mild to high temps, and wouldn't mind some extra humidity. Likes to dry in-between waterings.
May need to be repotted in 6 months to a year.
May be toxic to pets.
10-12" nursery pots available.
