Stephania Erecta 4" (large sprouting tuber)
Stephania erecta is a caudiciform plant with beautiful, delicate foliage and a potato-like tuber that requires a great deal of humidity to sprout.
Keep the growing medium moist. Placing the plant in a plastic bag or under a dome to raise humidity levels will encourage growth in about 2 weeks time.
Growing medium should be gritty and similar in nature to cactus mix. Make sure the pot has good drainage (terracotta is great).
Enjoys bright indirect or filtered light - direct sun will scorch the tuber and cause irreversible damage.
These plants usually enter dormancy at some point in their life cycle and will lose their leaves, then sprout again.
