Ficus lyrata 'Bambino' (dwarf fiddle leaf fig) 4-6"
Ficus lyrata 'Bambino'
Ficus lyrata, or more popularly the Fiddle Leaf Fig tree, has become an incredibly popular ornamental indoor tree. With the species originating from tropical to sub-tropical parts of West Africa, they are biologically not necessarily suited to be a houseplant, so they have garnered a reputation for having behavioral problems in cultivation. What we can say is in our experience - the Ficus lyrata is a creature of habit, and doesn't respond well to change. Providing it consistency with environmental conditions is key to it's long-term success. The 'Bambino' cultivar is a dwarf cultivar that will remain smaller and diminutive in size compared to the normal form.
Ficus lyrata 'Bambino' enjoys very bright indirect light to partial/brief direct sun exposure, a chunky, well-draining potting mix, moderate to high temps, and has no notable humidity demands, despite what tik-tok might have you believe (misting doesn't help these guys, or humidity for that matter). Allow to thoroughly dry in-between waterings, but don't allow to sit dry for any real amount of time.
May need to be repotted within 6 months - year.
May be toxic to pets and children.
6" nursery pots available.
